Team Saquish Rowing Education Society, Inc.

This year's Snow Row is one that will not soon be forgotten. The entire Saquish fleet was on the water, with each crew having their own story to tell at the end of the day. Congratulations to the men of the Interceptor for bringing back the coveted golden clam shell to Saquish Rowing. The Tucker, crewed by the Mother Tuckers and coxed by Master and Commander Sterling Wall, also was a winner with the best time in its class - well done. The most important story of the day, however, was the crew of the Jenness and their rescue of five rowers who were capsized, found and saved. With Janet Reddy's skill with the rudder, I hear each rower was plucked from the sea one by one, unharmed.  Congratulations!  A proud moment for us all.

To the Women's Snow Row team
Jan, Lauren, Karin,Anita, Lyndsay, Hilary and Ashley.
At the Cox's meeting we were told to help anyone that may be in distress. For as many times as that has been said you never know when you may be put in the position to have to respond to an emergency. Especially one in which time is critical. The water temp was in the high 30's. With little protective clothing a body can not survive but a few minutes in that temperature. Fortunately Jan was observant enough to notice bodies in the water and directed her crew to go into rescue mode. You not only rescued them but saved their lives. You were put into a situation to do something heroic and you all should be commended for doing just that. In those condition you also put yourselves in danger but knowing some of your personalities I'm sure that did not enter into your minds at the time. I applaud you and I am extremely proud to know you all.
